Steel pipe manufacturing is a multi-step process involving raw material preparation, heating and molding, cooling and shaping, welding, surface treatment and many other aspects. The following are the main steps in steel pipe manufacturing:

 

Raw material preparation. The main raw materials of steel pipe are steel plate and steel strip, these raw materials need to be cut, flattened, molded and other processes to be processed into the corresponding width and thickness required for the manufacture of steel pipe.123

Heating and molding. After the billet has been quality checked, it needs to enter the heating furnace for heating. The purpose of heating is to make the billet reach a certain plasticity, which is convenient for subsequent molding. The heated billet is sent to the rolling mill for rolling, and after several rolling and drawing processes, the preliminary shape of the steel pipe is finally formed.2345678

Cooling shaping. After the preliminary shape of the steel pipe still exists some defects and irregular shape, so it needs to be cooled and shaped. Cooling shaping usually includes cooling, straightening, cutting and other processes. In the cooling process, the steel tube is fed into a cooling pool or cooled by air cooling, which gradually decreases its temperature and solidifies its shape. Next, straightening is carried out to adjust the shape and size of the steel pipe to meet the standard requirements through operations such as drawing and roll pressing. Finally, the tubes are cut to length to meet customer requirements.238

Welding. The fabrication of steel pipe is also subjected to a welding process. Welding is the process of joining multiple steel plates by heat and pressure to form a steel pipe. Welding processes can be categorized as high-frequency welding, resistance welding, and solution welding. In order to ensure the quality of the steel tube after welding, the welding process requires close control of the material, thickness, diameter and welding process of the boiler tube.34678

Surface treatment. The finished manufactured steel pipe needs surface treatment to improve its corrosion resistance and aesthetics. The surface treatment includes rust removal, painting, galvanizing and other processes. First of all, the iron oxide and impurities on the surface of the steel pipe should be removed, and then spray painting or galvanizing and other treatments should be carried out to form a layer of protective film to extend the service life of the steel pipe.

In short, steel pipe manufacturing is a relatively complex process, and it is necessary to control the various details of the process to ensure the quality and performance of the steel pipe.
